Tiger Woods: First Billion Dollar Athlete

Forbe's magazine recently reported that Tiger Woods has become the first athlete to earn a billion dollars. He made his money not only by being the best on the course, but also through numerous endorsements: Nike, Gillette, General Motors, and numerous others. Tiger is the face of the most successful golf video game (the Tiger Woods PGA Tour series) and now has his own brand of Gatorade (Gatorade Tiger). Obviously he has put in his work on and off the course.

The closest follower is believed to be Michael Jordan, who made approximately 800 million during his career.
