According to a recent ESPN article, Kevin and Pat Williams, two of the Vikings' inside defensive linemen, have been given permission to play in week 1, despite an ongoing legal battle over use of banned substances. The two players were both given 4 game suspensions last year, but sued the NFL and have yet to serve the time. The suspensions came when a diuretic that is often used to mask steroids showed up in drug tests. Both players claim the diuretic was an ingredient in a weight loss supplement they had been using.
